Hello Friends and Family! We are just about 6 months away from seeing you all in Orlando for our wedding day and festivities! As you start planning your trips, we kindly ask you to let us know if you’ll be able to join us. We understand that a trip to Florida might not be possible for everyone, and we completely understand. But, any updates on your plans would be greatly appreciated and help us plan for the big day!
We wanted to share a few updates for you all because we know many of you are beginning to plan your trips.
Schedule: We have many fun activities scheduled around our wedding day that we would love for everyone to join in on. We did this because we know that so many of you are traveling from far away to celebrate with us and we want to give you some options to boost the experience of your stay. Everything here is of course optional, we just ask that you RSVP separately for the Disney day so that we know how many people will be joining.
Friday the 16th: We are hosting out Bachelor/Bachelorette party - Please reach out to us for more info.
Saturday the 17th: Rehearsal dinner for the wedding party.
Sunday the 18th is wedding day!
Monday the 19th is another free day/park day. Most of our friends and family will be doing a combination of Disney parks and Universal parks.
Tuesday the 20th is our planned group Disney day! We are asking everyone to join us at Epcot for the day to travel around the world. A park hopper is not required, but is encouraged as some of the group may go to the other parks later in the day.
Wednesday the 21st many people will be leaving Orlando, or staying to visit more parks. We encourage you to let us know about your itinerary so we can link you up with our other friends and family.
Disney Tips: Disney is fairly strict on their pricing and they no longer offer group rates. Everyone will need to buy their own park reservations prior to the wedding week. You do not have to stay on Disney property, however there are a few perks if you do - 1 Hour early access to the parks and free transportation to all four parks (Parking at Disney is $30). We recently stayed at their value All-Star resorts and enjoyed the experience! Pricing was about $200 a night. There is also a bundle discount for staying at the resorts and buying park tickets through disney's website.
Flight Tips: There is still plenty of time to watch for flight prices as they will fluctuate throughout the holiday season and early next year. We suggest setting up a price tracker with a platform like Google, Kayak, or Expedia. We encourage you to fly into MCO, which is about a 30 min drive to the wedding venue area/Downtown Orlando. The cheapest days to fly are usually Mon - Thur.
Hotels/AirBnB: We suggest you stay somewhere near Downtown Orlando or Lake Eola. Both areas have beautiful walking parks, shops, dining, and a variety of hotels and Airbnbs. These areas are all a short Uber to the wedding venue. If you are joining us for Disney, the downtown area is only about 30 mins from the parks. We have also updated our website with some group rate hotels.
Transportation: MCO, The Orlando Science Center, and Disneyworld are all about 30 minutes apart from each other. Be careful with Florida car rental companies, the discount car companies have hidden fees so please read the contracts carefully or use a reputable company such as Hertz, Enterprise, or any of the car rental companies that you can pickup at MCO. If the rental car company requires you to shuttle away from MCO, it probably has hidden fees.
We suggest carpooling as best as you can with your group or another group. If you don't know anybody in Florida, please reach out to us and we will do our best to accommodate!
Financial Assistance: We know that this is a lot of traveling and spending, and we are so very thankful for those of you who can make it all work! That being said, we encourage you to reach out to us to help find ways to save money by sharing AirBnBs, Rental Cars, ect.
A quick reminder on our wedding donations - We are not asking for gifts, but instead for donations to our honeymoon/Wedding fund of which a portion will be used to help those that need financial assistance. We are using HoneyFund.
Addresses For RSVPs: Lastly, we need everyone's address for the physical RSVPs we will be sending out. Even if you haven't RSVPd on our website, please send us a message with your address.
Even though it's 6+ months away, we are SO excited to see you all in beautiful Orlando! Don't hesitate to reach out to us with any questions you may have.
Love,
Lizzy and Corbin
